About the role 
As an Event Advisor, you’ll love the variety, excitement and challenge of running incredible events in our impressive range of venues; The Michael Fowler Centre, Opera House, TSB Arena, Shed 6 and St James Theatre.  As the key contact for our clients from contract acceptance through to delivery, your ability to plan, coordinate and communicate to all stakeholders while keeping many balls in the air, and a cool head at all times, will ensure your success in this role.  Based at the Michael Fowler Centre, you’ll work alongside a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional experiences for clients, customers and guests.   

Reporting to the Event Planning Manager as part of our team of Event Advisors, you’ll:   
  • Plan, coordinate and support the successful delivery of our performance, exhibitions, conventions, and events across our range of venues. 
  • Foster positive, collaborative relationships with our clients, team, providers, and all stakeholders, to create a seamless experience in service delivery. 
  • Ensure all documentation, event plans and relevant information is accurate, clear and shared to those who need it. 
  • Provide oversight and ownership of health and safety requirements across all aspects of our events. 
  • Live and demonstrate our values, as you love what you do and contribute to the team.   
We’re looking for someone who: 
  • Loves the Wellington region and shares our passion for making it wildly famous. 
  • Has at least three year’s events experience, ideally including performance events, and a desire to broaden your skills. 
  • Has a natural ability to delight and support others, bringing professionalism, integrity, positive energy, initiative and a can-do attitude. 
  • Has exceptional attention to detail and a forward thinking and process driven approach.  
  • Brings a high level of organisation, multi-tasking and planning ability but still thinks outside the box.  As situations change, we need you to be calm and solutions-focussed, quickly adapting when needed. 
  • Builds strong relationships and seeks out opportunities to collaborate and connect with others to meet customer needs and add value. 
  • Is a confident and clear communicator who ensures all stakeholders are prepared and informed. 
  • Has sound knowledge of health and safety requirements and solid computer skills. 
  • Experience with Visio and event planning software is an advantage; however we’ll provide you with the training you need to get up to speed.
